Main Task: Target Audience Survey Results

After conducting a survey to generate my target audience, I found that the results were quite varied. For my survey, I asked both my peers and the public to take my survey, possibly influencing the overall results.
 
Question 1
 
 
I found that the majority of people asked were between the ages of 13-17 (57%). Although this was the most popular age group, I have decided to expand on this making my product fit for the use of those older i.e. young adults as 21% of those asked were aged 28+. Not only does this benefit my product for attracting a larger target audience, it also generates more profits for my product as those older would have a larger income therefore willing to spend more.
 
 
Question 2


 
Whilst my product has a large age range, I have found that the majority of my products consumers would be female (64%).
 
 
Question 3
 

 
From the people asked, I found that the most popular genre of music was Pop therefore Pop music instantly became my genre for my magazine. As pop has a wide cultural base, I am able to attract all interests through my magazine therefore potentially attracting a wider target audience.
 

 
 
 
I found that the factor that most affected why people buy magazines was the main image, therefore my main focus for creating my product is to make a magazine with images that relate directly to my target audience.
 
 
 
I found that more people bought a physical copy of a magazine, followed then by a digital copy available on Android and Iphone applications. 17% of all publications are now digitally produced, meaning that this method of distribution will become more popular with time therefore suggesting that the product should be digitally available as well as physically.
