Main Task: Language and Register

In existing magazines, it is evident that they adopt a more informal approach to the language they use, in contrast to media texts including newspapers and broadsheets. This is the case as they want to address their audience/consumers in a friendly, informal way, as they would not want their leisure and interests to be formalised.
Similarly, the language in headlines etc is considered carefully to catch the readers attention otherwise they would appear boring, and institutions would find it difficult to sell their products.

For my product, I have considered language and register by making my magazine formal, yet not too boring for my target audience. On the other hand, throughout my double page spread article, I have considered both length and content in order to attract my audience, without being too long yet getting value for money.
My article includes relevent information to my artist, Selina, including sensationalist subject matter i.e. her breakdown, in order to give my audience an insight to her life, whilst she is making a comeback. On the othe hand, pull quotes including 'I'm not superwoman' gives the article a bold attitude representing her attitude to the previous events included in the article.
