Main Task: Layouts

In order to create a realistic media product, I have looked at existing magazine and the conventional layouts of the different products. Here I have created plans for my cover, contents page and double page spread. 

 

 

 I found that most magazines had their coverlines on the right third of the page, however, I challenged conventions by placing them on the left third of the page.

 

My contents page has been developed from my mock up products i.e. Beyonce cover/contents/double page spread. Again I have challenged conventions by placing my main image across the top of the page under my title 'contents', rather than on either side. This automatically draws the reader to the main focus of the magazine.

My double page spread follows the conventions of a typical magazine i.e. image on the left hand side and the lead and body copy on the opposite page which makes it clear what the article is about.
