Preliminary Analysis

 

 

 This is an example of an existing school magazine cover for my preliminary analysis. It is made clear that this is a school magazine as it has the school logo in the top right-hand corner, along with the word college in the strap line. In addition, it has a student as the main image, demonstrating her 'artistic talent' in the form of a painting or drawing, that the main focus of this issue is art.

 

 

This is the first font I have found to use for my preliminary task. The font would be suitable for a school magazine as it looks 'handwritten' yet is easy to read. This could be used for subheadings throughout the contents.  An alternative to the 'Handwritten' font is 'Note this' which although still looks like handwriting, but neat note form, which again is easy to read, and just as simple. Both fonts are sans serif fonts that suggest that they are informal, attracting the younger audience.
